Frequently asked questions

How long does a 3D capture take in a listed monument?
A capture in a listed monument usually takes between 2 and 8 hours on site, depending on the area and the complexity of the volume. For a large Gothic cathedral, the capture is often spread over 2 days to cover every zone and manage changes in light. The final model is delivered within 5 to 8 days.
Does the venue need to close to the public during the capture?
No, in the vast majority of cases. Our equipment is discreet and our presence unobtrusive. Visitors on site are simply avoided in the sequence of passes. For very busy monuments we recommend an early-morning session or outside opening hours, but it is not a requirement.
Who owns the delivered 3D model?
The client owns the delivered model. ImmersiveTech retains the right to feature the project in its portfolio, unless a specific confidentiality clause applies. The model can be hosted on our partner servers (XGRIDS, PlayCanvas) or on infrastructure you control.
Can the 3D model be embedded in our own website?
Yes, absolutely. The model is delivered via an embeddable web link (iframe) that you can add to any HTML page. No plugin, no installation required for your visitors.
Can the model be archived for the long term?
Yes. The source file of the 3DGS model is handed over to you in a standard format. You can archive it on your own servers independently of any provider. Online viewing depends on the chosen viewer (XGRIDS, PlayCanvas or SuperSplat), but the raw model remains in your possession.
